Where We Began
In 2017, 4TheChildren was launched as an official project of Friends of Endangered Children. Each month, volunteers would gather to sew a specially designed reversible dress made from donated fabric, thread and notions. The dresses were made for underprivileged schoolgirls in Tanzania. The program was overwhelmingly successful.  Children loved their new clothes!  Beyond meeting a practical need, the dresses sent powerful message:  someone cares.  That sense of care and dignity is a proven step toward reducing child trafficking.

Inspired by this success, the sewists formed their own 501(c)3 non-profit - 4TheChildren - in 2019.  They continued meeting each month, sewing together as friends with a shared purpose. Support grew. Quilting groups and fabric stores donated fabric, trim, and supplies in abundance.

Growing Together

As the organization grew, so did its reach. A website, a logo, a newsletter and custom labels for each garment were developed. One annual fundraising 'event' to cover the costs of items not donated and the expenses of shipping was initiated.
Over time the dress pattern has been refined for fit and style, and each garment is paired with a t-shirt.  Each dress includes leggings as well.  These details may seem small, but they represent our ongoing commitment to giving every child not just clothing, but something made with love, and care.

Choosing Recipients
Child trafficking is a global crisis that demands urgent attention.  In addition to supporting international communities, we continue to explore ways to serve closer to home.  The U.S. federal Murdered and Missing Indigenous People (MMIP) initiative highlights the heartbreaking reality of thousands of Native American youth who go missing or are trafficked each year.

At 4TheChildren, we are committed to partnering with Native Peoples and international organizations alike to bring awareness, provide support, and ultimately reduce the number of children impacted.  No matter where a child lives, they deserve safety, dignity, and hope.

Our Commitment
We believe every stitch matters.  It is our policy to give only our very best to the children we serve.  Each garment is crafted with care, quality, and compassion, because we know that when a child receives something made just for them, it sends a life-changing message:  you matter.

We remain dedicated to making a meaningful difference in the fight against child trafficking - one garment, one child, one life - at a time.
