The Issue There are a number of refugee camps in the Baja area of Mexico. They struggle to provide for their families, the adults needing to go to work. Often the children are left to fend for themselves and they are not necessarily enrolled in school. This leaves them, and young women, vulnerable to traffickers. Support workers have found young girls wandering the camps naked. Children are stolen regularly.
The Project Mt. of Olives Orphanage provides care and support for a number of children from the refugee camps. The Anchored Church in Lynden, WA supports both the orphanage and the refugee camps. The Anchored Church is committed to reducing trafficking globally and were kind enough to deliver the dresses for us.
Project Info The team spent 150 hours sewing 50 garments in 2025 for this community. Each garment was accompanied by a t-shirt. All of the dresses were accompanied by a pair of leggings.
Thank You "I helped deliver the dresses to the children in the refugee camp. The girls were so excited to receive a new dress in a package - something they've never seen before." - Sara, The Anchored Church
