Frequently Asked Questions

•  How does a dress prevent trafficking?

Traffickers look for vulnerability. A child who is well dressed in a handmade garment with a tag is less likely to be chosen.

•  Are  Washington children vulnerable?  We don't hear about trafficking here. We must not have a problem.

The I-5 corridor is the most used highway for trafficking in the world.  One method is for children to be flown into Mexico from other countries, smuggled into the US and driven to Canada, flown out on freight airplanes - or vice versa.  Once this has occurred, it is virtually impossible to find them again.  A new Human Trafficking 'czar' has been appointed in British Columbia and US Border Patrol has a dedicated office in Blaine to address the problem. Every child is vulnerable.

• Why don't we support local communities?

Attempts have been made to connect with organizations and families across Washington State.  We remain hopeful they will express interest and we continue to want to build partnerships with them.

•  How much of the donations go to administration?

We are small. We have no paid staff or rent.  All we do goes directly into providing garments for children.
